Commercial photography is probably best defined as any photography for which the photographer is paid for images rather than works of art. In this spectrum, money could be paid for the subject of the photograph or the photograph itself.

Consistancy of output

Constant light output and quality are necessary characteristics of photographic light sources, especially for color work. Daylight, although an intense and form is free lighting. Still by no means at all is daylight, outdoor or available light is by no means constant.
