hello all! this site looks interesting, i thought i'd sign up. i'm wanting to sell my photos to magazines/post cards/ect. or put them in galleries.....and i'm really not sure how to go about doing that. any tips?

From what I've seen you need to find out where you fit in in this industry then submit to every publication or agency that deals with your style. Be persistent but professional at all times. Don't take rejection personally and keep your day job until you're sure your art will get at least pay your bills. I do a lot of rodeo type shoots and I gave away a lot of pictures to people in that lifestyle to get noticed and have done a few freebie shoots for groups to reinforce my name and what I am all about. The custom shoots come a bit later and that can lead to the better paying gigs. If you don't like what you shoot it will show in the final product. Do what you love and love what you do! Have fun and shoot as much and as often as you can. Sorry to ramble on like this but I'm in the same boat as the rest of you and this seems to be working for me. Thanks for listening!
